BREAKING: Adada Traditional Rulers confer Chieftaincy Title on Barr Ezugwu

…endorse his candidature ahead of October 5 chairmanship polls.

The traditional rulers of Adada Development Center in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area led by HRH, Igwe Simeon Idu of Nkpologu community, on Wednesday conferred on Barr Chijioke Ezugwu, People Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming local government poll slated to hold on October 5, 2024 the title of Agunecheibe 1 of Nkpologu ancient kingdom.

Ezugwu who was on Wednesday declared the winner of his party’s chairmanship primary election at the council’s headquarters , Umulokpa was equally presented with a symbolic ofo staff by the traditional rulers who described him as a blessing to the people.

The Royal fathers also endorsed the candidature of Barr Ezugwu, affirming that they are solidly behind him in the forthcoming local government election.

Speaking during the ceremony, Igwe S.J Idu who was in company of Igwe Jude Okeke of Nkpunator autonomous community, Igwe Figo Ani of Akpugo community, and other traditional rulers from other parts of Uzo-Uwani averred that the chieftaincy title given to Barr Ezugwu was in acknowledgment of his selfless services which he has been rendering to the people in the area of insecurity, stating that the ofo was to guide him as he proceeds in leading the good people of Uzo-Uwani.

Igwe Idu exhorted the PDP chairmanship flag bearer to see everyone as one and make sure that he forgives those who might have advertently or inadvertently offended him in the area of political struggle, as the position he will soon occupy demands that he makes peace amongst the people of Uzo-Uwani.

“We, the traditional rulers of Adada Development Center in Uzo-Uwani are today bestowing you with the Agunecheibe chieftaincy title because you deserve it. We are urging you to go and guide your people, protect them from the hands of miscreants and the enemies of Uzo-Uwani. The staff is to give you the authority to continue rendering the selfless services you have been given to your community, guide Uzo-Uwani people and ensure that they sleep with their two eyes closed.

“We equally thank the governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah for his good works even as we hope that Uzo-Uwani will be greater under his watch. We are exceedingly grateful to him for ensuring that justice reigns,” Igwe said.

In his words, Ezugwu while expressing his appreciation to the traditional rulers, promised that his administration will tackle effectively, the disturbing issue of insecurity in Uzo-uwani adding that Uzo-Uwani will be too hot for miscreants, kidnappers and armed robbers to hide henceforth .

He further assured that Uzo-Uwani under the watchful eyes of the governor and himself will witness an unprecedented growth that will transform the lives of every citizen, maintaining that the council will return to its glory as the food basket of the state.

“We know the task ahead and we are prepared for it. His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah assured Ndi Enugu that his administration will have zero tolerance for insecurity and that is what we shall stand on. Uzo-Uwani will witness an unprecedented growth and change that will transform the whole area and give our people a good standard of living.

“I appreciate the governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah for giving us this enabling ground to operate and make our impacts count in Uzo-Uwani. We are not taking it for granted. I shall ensure that there’s harmony among the stakeholders because we all shall do this job together,” Ezugwu said.

Other dignitaries who witnessed the event are, Barr. Ezugwu’s running mate, Mrs Vera Ezugwu, former council chairman, Chukwudi Nnadozie, former Chief of Protocol Enugu State Government House, Dr. Bartholomew Ezeugwu, the Peoples Democratic Party chairman, Jude Okonkwo, Fmr. ENSIEC Secretary, Amah Celestine, the traditional ruler of Iggah community, Igwe Herbert Ukuta, the Igwe of Abbi community, Fidelis Eze, among others.
