Enugu Commissioner, Sam Ugwu Congratulates Mbah on his Supreme Court Victory

The Enugu Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Prof. Sam Ugwu has congratulated Governor Peter Mbah on his victory at the Supreme victory as the duly elected Governor of Enugu State.

The Supreme Court on 22, December affirmed Dr. Peter Mbah as the winner of the 2023 Enugu governorship election against the petition filed against Mbah by the Labour Party guber candidate Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, challenging the result of the election.

Prof. Ugwu described it as an evidence that Mbah has the people’s mandate, and that the Apex Court stands by the truth, the law, and the people, stressing that it’s important that every distraction was over, allowing the Governor to continue to focus fully on growing the Enugu economy exponentially.

In his words, “Dr. Peter Mbah has shown the stuff that he’s made of; in barely 200 days in office, he has revamped our agricultural sector, fixed an almost two decade water problem in Enugu, tackled illegal mining of our resources, enhanced workers welfare and productivity, and is building and reconstructing 81 roads in the state, not to mention the life he has brought back into our tourism industry.

“This and more, shows that he is not just the people’s Governor, he is the best for the seat. I, and the people of Enugu State are convinced that he will continue to deliver on his promise to the people.”

Prof. Sam described the victory as the best Christmas gift to the people of Enugu, as he believed it marked the total start of new era of economic revolution in the state, and called on the private sector and investors to come to Enugu to invest.

In his final words, he called for the people of Enugu State to support the Governor, to play their roles in the development and building of the state, insisting that it would be difficult to grow the state economy from $4.4 billion GDP to $30 billion in the next four to eight years without the productive participation of the masses in the project.
